ICYMI: This week in weed news 10/21

The cannabis news never stops. From workers unionizing to new and potent suppository formulations, here’s what happened this week in weed.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Cannabis workers’ unions aren’t going away. The latest example? Curaleaf workers in Edgewater, New Jersey just voted to unionize. Organized with Local 360, the employees are the latest cannabis workers to join the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) union.

Need something a little stronger? Mary Jones is expanding their product line with 100 mg sodas. The more potent beverages maintain the same flavor lineup from Jones Soda’s first venture into the cannabis market, with root beer, berry lemonade, green apple and orange & cream.

Canada’s Green Organic Dutchman is merging with BZAM Cannabis. Set to be Canada’s sixth-largest licensed producer, the consolidation is expected to wrap up on November 8, 2022. The new entity will offer more than 400 SKUS.

Celebrity weed? How novel. This time, comedian Chelsea Handler is teaming up with California beverage brand Leisuretown. Handler will promote, develop, and introduce new offerings to the company’s beverage portfolio, which consists of THC social seltzers and CBD sunny seltzers.

Hello Again will serve women of all ages with their latest weed suppositories. Their original formulations focused on menopausal women, but the newest product line focuses on relief from period pain and hangover discomfort.
