ICYMI: This week in weed news 9/23

It’s been a busy week in cannabis. Here’s what you may have missed:

Consumption lounges are coming to Vegas. City council members voted 5-1 against a motion for the tourist hotspot to opt out of cannabis consumption lounges. This comes after the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board signed off on these establishments back in June.

Denver might exclusively give delivery licenses to social equity applicants. Though not set in stone yet, the city council is considering a plan to make delivery permanently exclusive to social equity companies. Considering Colorado’s dismal social equity efforts in the past, we’ll certainly be following this story.

Halo Collective acquired several assets in Oregon. The company now has full ownership of three operating entities in Pistil Point: Decatur One LLC, Bradford Two LLC and Bradford Three LLC through its wholly-owned subsidiary ANM Inc..This brings their full ownership portfolio to several indoor and outdoor cultivation spaces, manufacturing, and distribution assets.

Massachusetts-based Insa is opening a dispensary in Tampa, Florida. The store’s grand opening is set for October 8th. This is all part of a bigger plan to open a total of ten dispensaries across Florida by the end of the year – an ambitious goal, to say the least.

Adult-use cannabis will be on Arkansas’ November election ballot. The state’s supreme court overturned a State Board of Election Commissioners decision to deny certifying the constitutional amendment legalizing adult-use cannabis. Great news for Arkansas, and a full 180 from the setback Oklahoma just faced.
