These Michigan cannabis companies are teaming up to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis

Cannabis for a cause? Some Michigan cannabis companies are working together to raise awareness about alternative treatment and management options for individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Dubbed a “Collaboration with Compassion,” retailers JARS Cannabis, Greenhouse of Walled Lake, Lake Effect, and Northern Specialty Health are teaming up with RISE and Mitten Canna Co. to provide a free one-gram syringe of Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) to interested customers while supplies last.

The collaboration is in response to nearly one million people in the United States who are living with MS, an unpredictable condition that affects the brain and spinal cord, often leading to neuropathic pain and vision problems, among a host of other symptoms. No cure for the chronic disease has been identified.

The collaboration aims to raise awareness of the condition during Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month, as well as educate consumers and non-consumers about the health benefits associated with RSO. The promotion will continue through the month of March while supplies last.

Rick Simpson Oil is a potent cannabis concentrate named after a man named Rick Simpson. He used a homemade, highly-potent extract to heal from skin cancer and made his journey public back in 2004. Today, many companies make a form of RSO in easy-to-dose syringes.
